Nowjobs in a nutshell

Nowjobs is part of House of HR and a 100% digital staffing platform for students, flexi-job workers, and people looking to earn extra income. Since making our debut in the App Store in 2017, our app has been downloaded more than one million times, over 30.000 companies have already found flexible workers through Nowjobs, and nearly 800.000 people have earned extra income through the app!

We're growing fast and internationally too. We're now active in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. In other words: it's high time to expand our amazing team!

Help us grow

Our mission. We want to become the largest, 100% digital staffing platform for flexi's and students in the EU. If we succeed, we'll soon all be living in the Bahamas. At least, that's our dream! The app does it all, and it generates a mountain of data along the way. But data alone doesn't make decisions. Without someone who turns those numbers into insight that teams actually act on, we're steering half blind. That's where you come in.

Ambitious? Yes.

Possible? Definitely. Or almost, because we're still looking for a Senior Business Data Analyst.

Nowjobs is looking for a Senior Business Data Analyst

A Nowjobber in a few words? Business-minded, curious about the story behind the numbers, and never quite satisfied with a dashboard nobody opens. Sounds like you? Keep reading.

You're the link between the business and the data. You sit with the people who ask the questions, figure out what they actually need, and build the answer yourself. You don't just hand over a dashboard: you make sure people trust the numbers and act on them.

That comes with a lot of ownership. Together with management, you decide what's worth building, what isn't, and what “turnover” or “active customer” really means when three countries each have their own view.

Your team

You'll report to our Head of Finance & Operations and work closely with the country management teams in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. Our Engineering team builds and runs the data platform. You make sure it pays off for the business.

Short lines, real impact: your work ends up on the management table, and your input shapes how we work with data across the whole company. Every now and then, you'll hop on a train to our Paris office.

Your responsibilities

Turn business questions into insight

You work with sales, operations, marketing and finance in Belgium, the Netherlands and France to understand how they work and what they need to steer on. Then you build it.

Pick the right answer for every question

Not every question needs a dashboard. You judge what makes sense: a quick one-off analysis in Excel, a structural report in Power BI, or a feature built into our own back-office tools together with Engineering, when a team needs the information every day, right where they already work.

Build reporting that drives action

You design and maintain Power BI reports that show at a glance what's going well, what isn't and who needs to act. Built for the people who use them, from management down to an individual account manager.

Own our KPIs

You're the reference for our definitions and figures. Everyone uses the same numbers, so meetings are about what to do, not about whose figure is right.

Prioritise and challenge

Requests will come from everywhere. You weigh them against business priorities and dare to push back when something adds little value.

Work smarter with AI

You use AI tools in your daily work to analyse faster, automate repetitive reporting and get reliable information to people before they even have to ask. And you keep looking for new ways to do more with less.

Team up with Data Engineering

You translate business needs into clear requirements and agree with Engineering on what the platform has to deliver.

Raise the bar

You review the reporting we have today, clean it up, and help teams get more out of their data.

How this role contributes to our mission

  • Every team, from sales to management, makes decisions based on numbers they trust.
  • One version of the truth across Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
  • Less time spent searching for figures, more time spent acting on them.
  • Smart use of AI and automation, so reporting scales as fast as we grow.

What we're looking for

Must-haves

  • Business first. You get energy from understanding how a business really works, and you look past the numbers to what they mean.
  • At least 5 years' experience building reporting for business teams, for example as a business analyst, BI analyst or controller in a commercial or operational environment.
  • Strong in Power BI and Excel, and comfortable with SQL.
  • A strong communicator. You explain a trend to a sales manager as easily as a data question to an engineer. You set clear expectations, keep people informed and build trust. For us, this one matters most.
  • Confident and pragmatic. You're comfortable challenging senior stakeholders, making choices and saying no with a good argument.
  • Structured. You document what you build and leave things clearer than you found them.
  • Fluent in English, with a taste for working across countries and cultures.
  • A Master's degree, or equivalent experience.

Nice to haves

  • Dutch and/or French
  • Automation tools such as Power Automate or n8n
  • A modern data stack: Databricks, dbt
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot…) and the curiosity to find out what else they can do for analysis and reporting

PS: you don't need to tick every box on this list. If you bring the business sense, the communication skills and solid Power BI experience, we'll help you grow into the rest.

What can you expect from us?

  • A high-ownership role with real impact and visibility: your work ends up on the management table.
  • Lots of room to shape the role and the way we work with data.
  • The pace and energy of a scale-up, backed by House of HR, a large international HR group.
  • An international playing field across Belgium, the Netherlands and France.

What do we offer?

  • A permanent, full-time contract.
  • An office in Sint-Denijs-Westrem (Ghent), right off the E40, easily accessible and equipped with parking facilities and bike storage.
  • A 40-hour workweek with the flexibility you need, with an average of 3 days per week working from the office.
  • A flexible benefits plan that allows you to tailor your package to your needs (bike, additional holidays, family insurance, etc.).
  • A personal development plan and an annual training budget to support your continued growth.
  • Internal career opportunities within a fast-growing and scaling organization.
  • And of course: office dogs, weekly soup, great coffee and tea, ergonomic desks, and more…

Convinced?

We thought so. Apply below, and Penelope will get back to you within two working days.

What's next? An introductory call, an interview, a short business case and a final fit interview.
